So millions of Black slaves (between 15 and 20 millions perhaps) were brought from western Africa to the Caribbeans and America. In the USA's southern states, rich people bought slaves to work on their "plantations" (left picture: an "ideal" plantation, where there isn't any problem).Black people worked in cotton-fields (right picture), or in tobacco- or sugar-fields.The slave-states in the USA were in the south: Alabama, Georgia,Mississipi or Texas.

Picking cotton was a hard job and treatments to slaves depended on the master. Black people worked for very long periods of time every day.
